Oracle Supports Japan Relief Efforts
March 27, 2011 | By oracleshs |
The devastating earthquake and tsunami in Japan brought many students together to support relief efforts. Over the past two weeks, Oracle worked closely with several other groups to organize events for the entire Penn community.
On Friday, March 18, Oracle worked with the Japan Student Association and 4 other senior societies (Friars, Mortar Board, Onyx, and Sphinx) to organize a paper crane-folding event by the Compass on Locust Walk. Our goal was to help build a campus-wide message of hope.
On Thursday, March 24, we commemorated the two-week anniversary of the earthquake with a Japan Relief Benefit dinner to keep the victims of the devastation in our hearts and minds and also raise money for the Penn Japan Relief Fund. The event was a collaboration with the Asian Pacific Student Coalition, the Japan Student Association, and Lambda Phi Epsilon. Read the DP’s coverage of the event here.
